The Telegraph is running a story about a giant gas field that has been discovered under Lincolnshire which could fuel the UK’s entire needs for a decade. The story is here.
I never take these stories seriously, as previous such claims never seem to materialise.
Nevertheless it will create a big dilemma for the Labour Government. If Starmer and Reeves are serious about growth, they will have to stand up to Miliband and the rest of the green nutters in the party and give this project the go-ahead, which will in turn require the ban on fracking to be reversed, as well as Miliband’s own ban on new oil and gas licencing in the UK.
