There is an unbelievably poor in the Telegraph today by Sarah Knapton, Science Editor, headlined “Global warming to prevent 3.4 million deaths from cold … but at a deadly cost”.
It is based on a new study which claims global warming will prevent 3.4 million deaths from the cold in Europe by the end of the century, but heat will kill 5.8 million.
Apparently Italy, France and Spain would face hundreds of thousands of excess deaths.
But nowhere does Knapton recognise the fact that cold kills four times as many people than heat in southern Europe now.

Needless to say, the scary scenarios highlighted by the Telegraph are based on the most extreme global warming scenario of 4C.
Thankfully the Telegraph readers quickly saw through this latest piece of propaganda.
